How to Make an Image Low Quality
Want a meme-ready, retro, or intentionally compressed look? You do not need Photoshop. Use a browser low quality image maker and follow these steps.
1. Open the tool and upload
Go to the LQ Maker homepage, then drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF (up to 50MB). Processing stays on your device — nothing is uploaded to our servers for editing.
2. Lower resolution first
Pull the Resolution slider down. This is the fastest way to introduce blockiness and that classic “saved too many times” feel.
3. Add blur, pixelation, and noise
- Blur softens edges like heavy JPEG compression.
- Pixelation creates mosaic / censor-style blocks.
- Noise adds grain for deep-fried energy.
- Brightness can push a harsh, overexposed meme look.
4. Try a preset
Use Meme, Deep Fry, or Tiny File, then fine-tune. Or open the dedicated deep fried meme / pixelate image pages.
5. Download
Export a JPG and share. If you need another pass, upload again and push the sliders further.
Tips
- Start gentle, then go harder — it is easy to overshoot.
- For pure mosaic looks, prioritize Pixelation over Blur.
- For file-size vibes without total chaos, use the Tiny File preset.
